"Is it inappropriate to wear the color red to a business meeting or interview?" -Brenda H
Yes and no. Let me explain. Red is a strong, powerful color that projects confidence and passion. Like other bright colors, red is also considered a "learning" color. So if you are giving a presentation to a room full of peers whom you already know, a red suit or dress is an excellent choice.
Likewise, if you work in a creative field, a red accessory or red shoes can give your look a pop of personality or finesse.
However, red is not considered a good "first impression" color. Some people find the color red too distracting - even threatening. So if you're going on a job interview or meeting a client for the first time, opt for an authoritative black, reliable brown or cool, calm and collected grey.
After all, when making a first impression, you want to be remembered for what you say, not what you wear.
